Did you know that Wild Grace was almost a kilt shop? Owner Sharyn Kernachan chats about how she shaped the business that serves the local community today.
“After I bought the shop in April 2014, we traded under the old name Days Remembered and I got to know the customers and locals. That’s when I realised that the shop would be missed in Uddingston, so I decided to keep selling cards and add gifting, too.
We launched as Wild Grace in October 2014 after a complete renovation. The only thing we kept the same was the stock room! In a past life, I headed up a retail property team for Monsoon and Accessorize, so I was used to designing and renovating. We managed to get it done in three weeks using a team of builders that I’ve always used. In fact, they’re renovating my own house right now!
The community reaction to Wild Grace was really amazing. Everyone was, and still is, so supportive and they love what we provide here at the shop. We pride ourselves on offering a relaxed, friendly shopping experience which focuses on customer service. Our goal is that by coming through our doors, you add joy to your day!
For me, the best thing about owning Wild Grace is seeing a customer get that perfect present; they usually can’t tell us exactly what they want, but often when we suggest something they say, ‘that’s exactly what I was looking for!’.
It’s our pleasure to help them find the perfect gift for someone special.”
We love hearing from you!
